On September 17, 2018, AFI (A Fire Inside) brought their signature energy to the Revolution Concert House in Boise, Idaho. We were commissioned by VIP Boise to capture the band’s live performance for their media channels, producing a set of images that conveyed the electricity of the night from both the stage and the crowd’s perspective.
Concert photography demands precision—especially in a venue like Revolution Concert House, where fast-changing stage lighting, dense shadows, and constant movement push equipment and timing to their limits. The goal was to freeze decisive moments without losing the atmosphere that makes live music photography feel alive.
Deliver a visual record that reflects AFI’s intensity and stage presence while maintaining clarity, color accuracy, and composition under complex lighting. We set out to capture both intimate details—expressions, gestures, textures—and the wide shots that immerse viewers in the scale of the performance.
The final images balanced raw energy with technical sharpness, translating the pulse of the music into still frames. Used across VIP Boise’s media channels, the series gave fans a vivid visual recap and provided AFI’s team with imagery that stands shoulder-to-shoulder with their on-stage presence.
